5:01 am
remedy. now we're talking tea bag. it did work. and if you get a sty in your eye, use a tea bag. >> do you need to moisten the tea bag. >> yes, you do, just making sure you put a dry tea bag. >> what do you think eight today, yes, yesterday was an eight. it will be a little more humid to day. i might go to the seven before the hour is through. i'm still thinking bit. anyway, it is 74 degrees outside, it is muggy. we have 85 percent relative humidity and not much breeze at all. the air is still very still, and very close outside and our sunrise does not happen until 6:15, this morning. the showers, thunderstorms out in the western part of the state, johnstown, wheeling, west virginia and pittsburgh, but they are all moving to the north. we are not concerned about
5:02 am
that but we have seen a few very isolated showers, and in the case of the northern new jersey, thunderstorms this morning. showers that we saw earlier in chester county are still there, little less in intensity, south coventry a central location of that one area of isolated showers, so we are off to a muggy start and most of us will not see rain this morning. we have better chance of seeing fog then you do of getting any rain. 74 degrees the current temperature and sunny skies with 87 by lunchtime. we will top off at 93 degrees, and this will be day number four of our current heat wave which is also heat wave number four that became official yesterday. we will sort that out coming up in the seven day forecast, right now bob kelly is here, what do you got. >> good morning, everybody 5:02 on this tuesday, a live look at 492 freeway, in the bad coming into philadelphia, crews are still out picking up cons here near creek road, headlights working your way in toward philadelphia.

customer in the west philadelphia store. >> that customer, and attacker wrestled one another to the ground before the one robber got away after fighting off a gunshot. steve keeley live with the very latest, steve. >> reporter: everybody was watching, it the is called a tease at the start of the show, and everybody is wondering how could the robber also be lucky as the store owner was and victim was. here's why he is lucky as we run surveillance video again, he is lucky because guy he pick to rob is a guy, already armed with a gun and licensed, legally to carry it. you would think he pick certainly wrong guy but as you said lauren the word ambush is perfect here because that is what he did he attack this guy from behind, and he had zero warning. so certainly the guy has not announced and he has no eyes in the back of his head. so he never got his gun out, it only fell out of it holster during the struggle with the
5:07 am
guy, and then it is every man for himself trying to get that gun and in the struggle over the gun a shot goes off, bounces off the metal ventilation vent on the ceiling and then into the wall, and the guy chases the the guy who now has his gun out of the stores. very brave guy, police say maybe not such a wise move for this 22-year old chasing the guy with the gun so he knows it is loaded because one of the shots already went off this happened add midnight august 9th at hoagie city at haverford and lancaster where they meet at 40th street. the owners stand behind the counter at the time with lots of security, good surveillance and thick bullet-proof glass, that probably isn't even thick enough. >> i was standing right here. i was watching here and then i see him fighting. sometimes when you fired it

5:09 am
the hat schratwieser put on last night but thanks of sam hoagie city's owner who is thinking i made a couple good investments, both in the surveillance and that thick bullet-proof glass, he will say maybe i need twice as thick since that bullet ricocheted around hoagie city and ricocheted city last night as well in his mind. >> it is an investment on his part, thanks very much, steve keeley. philadelphia police arrested a 15 year-old boy in connection with the rape and beating. >> the victim only five years old. just hours ago police confirmed that the girl positively identified the person who last month jumped out of the hallway closet in the middle of the night sexually assaulted her, punched her and kick her. she was found unconscious in the backyard of her home in the 2600 block of north hutchinson street in north philadelphia. her mother found her outside. police are not releasing his name, the suspect but he does face charges of rape, attempted murder and other related offences. philadelphia police
